Ruth Nazareth Harper, Trustee & Chairperson of Care & Share Charitable Trust, Vijayawada, VG Mrs India Telangana Queen, VG Mrs India Phoenix & Heart Of Humanity, carries a story that reminds us that life’s beginnings do not define its endings. Born in circumstances beyond her control, she was given a second beginning through the Sisters of MC and later embraced with love by her adopted parents, Noel and Annie. Raised in Vijayawada and now settled in Hyderabad, Ruth has transformed her experiences into a life rooted in gratitude, faith, compassion, and service.
LiveWabiSabi celebrates her because her journey beautifully reflects what it means to embrace imperfection, rise beyond limitations, and allow life’s scars to become part of one’s strength.

Her WabiSabi Life Story
Ruth describes herself as “Charismatic, Leader, Fine Wine and Angel.” Behind those words lies a life shaped by both adversity and extraordinary love.
Her biological mother abandoned her immediately after her birth. She was found and given life by the Sisters of MC, and eventually her adopted parents, Noel and Annie, gave her something equally precious, love, care and values that stayed with her throughout her life.

Her parents taught her not to expect anything in return, but to share even the smallest happiness and joy she encounters and leave the rest to God.
For Ruth, her entire life’s journey and tribulations are dedicated to her father and mother.
Her story of kintsugi is not about repairing just one broken moment. It is her life itself.
The experiences that could have defined her became the foundation on which she built a life of purpose, compassion and faith.
Her Daily Dose of SelfLoveShots
For Ruth, self-love is beautifully uncomplicated.
It is “ME”, accompanied by a little music, a cup of tea and the joy of dressing up.
But there is something deeper at the heart of her daily self-love: praying for the world.
And then there are her cats.
They have taught Ruth an important lesson, to outshine the moments she cannot control.

Sometimes self-love isn't about changing everything around us. It is about learning what deserves our energy, releasing what doesn't, and choosing to shine anyway.
Her Proudest Moment
Ruth's proudest moments are deeply connected to a challenge she had to overcome as a child.
After a bout of polio, she was left with a club foot and had to walk with heavy callipers reaching up to her hips.
Yet she continued walking to and from school and around her surroundings, carrying something much heavier than the callipers, the weight of other people's perceptions.
And then came the moments that stayed with her.
People looked at her and said: “You are beautiful.”

For Ruth, those words became a reminder that beauty is not defined by perfection or physical limitations. Sometimes, simply continuing to walk forward is an act of courage worth being proud of.
Being Part of LiveWabiSabi Stories
For Ruth, being part of LiveWabiSabi Stories is about celebrating a shared sisterhood.
She describes Shilpi as a “queen from VG” and beautifully calls the connection “sisters from other mothers.”
Together, they are joining hands to share a message that transcends age and appearance: “We were baby dolls; now we are women.”

It is a celebration of growing, becoming, evolving and embracing every version of ourselves along the way.
Her Biggest Cheerleader
Ruth's mother was always at the top of her list of supporters.
Sadly, she passed away on 26 December 2023.
After her mother's passing, her father stepped in as a source of strength.
Alongside him, Ruth credits her friend and husband, Ali, for being part of her support system.

Their presence reminds us that while some people may leave us physically, the love and strength they give us continue to walk beside us.
Her Message to Other Women
Ruth's message is simple, direct and powerful:
Focus on yourself.
Comparison, she believes, can take away our joy.
Step outside your comfort zone.
Lift your head.
Move forward.
And embrace your inner child.
Because your journey doesn't have to look like anyone else's.
Your imperfections don't disqualify you from beauty.
And your past doesn't have to limit the woman you are becoming.

Ruth's story leaves us with a gentle reminder: you don't have to control every moment to outshine it. Focus on yourself, leave comparison behind, lift your head and keep moving forward.
