Some women rebuild their careers. Others rebuild their entire lives. Suela Pirushi has done both, with courage, purpose, and an unwavering belief that every setback can become the foundation for something extraordinary. Founder and CEO of The Milestone Hub, author of The Business Currency is Love, Oxford Saïd alumna, PhD researcher, UN Women UK Ambassador, and a single mother, Suela has rebuilt her life across four countries and four languages.

LiveWabiSabi is honoured to feature Suela because her journey beautifully reminds us that our deepest cracks can become the places where our greatest strength shines. Her story inspires women of every age to believe that no dream is ever too late and no beginning is ever too small.

Her WabiSabi Life Story

Suela Pirushi is the Founder and CEO of The Milestone Hub, where she helps professionals and small business owners transform their expertise into paying clients through meaningful strategic partnerships. With more than two decades of experience working with the World Bank, European Union organisations, and managing multi-million-pound B2B partnerships, she has dedicated her career to creating opportunities that empower others.

But behind her impressive achievements lies a deeply human story of resilience.

Starting over in a new country as a foreigner, Suela faced the painful reality that her qualifications were not recognised. Raising her daughter alone without a support system meant rebuilding both her personal and professional life from scratch.

One defining moment changed everything.

While attending a women's networking event, she listened to an inspiring speech about women supporting women. Longing for that sense of belonging, she admitted to the woman beside her that she didn't have anyone to open doors for her. The response she received was unexpected:

"Be that woman for yourself." Those words broke her heart.

She left feeling disappointed, not just by one conversation, but by a culture that spoke about community while often practising indifference. Yet that painful moment became the turning point of her life.

Instead of becoming bitter, Suela chose to become the woman she had once hoped to find. She completed her studies at Oxford Saïd, pursued a PhD, and founded The Milestone Hub so that other women would never have to face their journeys alone.

Like the Japanese philosophy of kintsugi, where broken pottery is repaired with gold, Suela believes our scars are not weaknesses—they are proof of courage. She believes true strength doesn't come from avoiding hardship but from choosing to build something meaningful because of it.

Today, she continues to build bridges rather than walls, proving that resilience can remain compassionate and that life's hardest chapters often become its most meaningful ones.

Her Daily Dose of SelfLoveShots

For Suela, self-love isn't about perfection or pampering.

It's about having the courage to say no.

No to opportunities that don't align with her purpose.

No to people who drain her energy.

No to the inner voice that insists she should already be somewhere else.

Her version of self-love is built on healthy boundaries, protecting her energy, and reminding herself, even on difficult days, that she has already come too far to give up.

Her Proudest Moment

While earning a PhD is an extraordinary accomplishment, Suela's proudest moment wasn't receiving the title itself.

It was successfully defending her doctoral research in her second language after arriving in a country where her earlier qualifications were overlooked. The first person she called was her daughter.

In that moment, the achievement became much bigger than academic success.

It became proof that perseverance creates possibilities, and that children learn the most powerful lessons by watching their parents refuse to quit.

Being Part of LiveWabiSabi Stories

For Suela, joining the LiveWabiSabi Stories community means being recognised for her whole journey, not only the polished achievements, but also the challenges that shaped them.

She believes success isn't created despite life's imperfections but because of them.

Standing alongside people who embrace their beautifully imperfect paths reflects everything she values: authenticity, resilience, hope, and the courage to keep building from life's scars.

Her Biggest Cheerleader

Without hesitation, Suela names her daughter as her greatest supporter.

Not because she offers business advice, but because she gives every challenge a deeper purpose.

Every important decision begins with one simple question:

"Is this the kind of life I want my daughter to see me build?"

That question has become her compass, encouraging her to choose courage over comfort and perseverance over the easy path.

Her Message to Other Women

Suela wants every woman to remember this:

You are not behind. You are not broken. You are not too late.

If your journey feels difficult, it may simply mean you're creating something that has never existed before.

In a world where trust is often missing, every promise you keep, every bridge you build, and every act of courage has the power to change someone else's life.

For Suela, giving up was never an option.

She hopes it never becomes one for you either.

You are not behind. You are not broken. You are not too late. Keep building your bridges, the world needs them ~ Suela Pirushi
