Dr Greeshma Nataraj: Turning life’s deepest cracks into light that helps others heal

Dr Greeshma Nataraj livewabisabi stories

In a world that often celebrates perfection, Live Wabi Sabi Life brings forward voices that honor the beauty of imperfection, and Dr. Greeshma Nataraj embodies this truth with rare depth. A therapist, author, healer, and founder of GNCC, her journey is not just one of professional excellence but of profound personal transformation. Her story reminds women across ages that even in life’s most fragile and uncertain moments, there lies the power to rebuild, reconnect, and rise stronger, with compassion, courage, and authenticity.

Her WabiSabi Life Story

Dr. Greeshma Nataraj is a multi-award-winning counselling psychologist and psychotherapist with over two decades of experience, known for her deeply intuitive and human-centred approach to healing. As the founder of Greeshma Nataraj Counselling Cafe (GNCC) and the creator of FACTS Therapy, she blends clinical insight with emotional intelligence, often describing herself as an “emotional detective” who gently untangles human chaos with empathy, curiosity, and even humor.

Her journey took a life-altering turn in 2002, when a tragic incident left her immobilized in a hospital bed for nearly two years. While she appeared strong on the outside, internally she battled disconnection, exhaustion, and the quiet loss of self. It was during this phase that she redefined strength, not as silent endurance, but as the courage to pause, break, and rebuild with honesty.

The unwavering support of her husband during this time became a cornerstone of her healing. His presence taught her that true strength lies in allowing oneself to be vulnerable and supported. This deeply personal experience transformed her, not only making her stronger and wiser but also more compassionate toward the pain of others.

Today, she carries those “cracks” not as wounds, but as golden badges of resilience, using them to light the path for others navigating their own darkness.

Her Daily Dose of SelfLoveShots

For Dr. Greeshma, self-love is not a curated aesthetic or a perfect routine, it is found in the quiet, everyday choices. It is closing your laptop when your body asks for rest, saying no without guilt, nourishing yourself, and allowing space to simply not be okay.

She believes self-love is deeply human, sometimes it looks like confidence, and other times like tears, stillness, or choosing comfort over expectation. It is about replacing harsh self-judgment with gentle acceptance and honoring your energy as it is.

Her Proudest Moment

Among many achievements, her proudest moments are not awards or recognitions, but the quiet, deeply human connections she builds.

A turning point came when a client told her, “I finally feel understood for the first time in my life.”

Building trust and emotional safety in a completely new environment like Kerala, despite language barriers and unfamiliarity, became one of her greatest victories. For her, the most meaningful recognition is when someone feels seen, heard, and lighter after a session.

Being Part of LiveWabiSabi Stories

For Dr. Greeshma, Wabi Sabi is a powerful reminder that unfinished, imperfect parts of ourselves are still beautiful. Sharing her story here is not just about reflection; it is about helping others realise and embrace their scars, doubts, and messy in-between moments without shame.

She believes the most impactful stories are not polished, they are honest. They carry courage, vulnerability, and truth. And often, it is these very imperfections that make us unforgettable.

Her Biggest Cheerleader

Her strength has been nurtured not just by loud applause, but by quiet, consistent support. Her husband, who stood by her through her most difficult phase, remains her pillar. Today, that circle of strength includes her son, her beloved pet, her clients who return with gratitude, and those silent supporters who simply stayed when she needed them most.

Her Message to Other Women

Dr. Greeshma reminds women that sensitivity is not weakness, scars are not failures, and you are not “too much.” Life’s storms do not break you, they deepen you.

You are not behind. You are not difficult to love. You are becoming, and that in itself is a beautiful, evolving process.

“Healing is not about hiding your cracks, it’s about letting them become the most beautiful part of your story.” ~ Dr. Greeshma Nataraj
