Damini Grover: Turning pain into purpose while helping thousands rediscover their emotional strength

Damini Grover - livewabisabi stories

Damini Grover is an award-winning Counseling Psychologist, Life Coach, Author, and the Founder of I’M Powered ~ Centre for Counseling & Well-Being. With more than a decade of experience supporting individuals through emotional challenges, her work centers on guiding people toward self-awareness, resilience, and healthier relationships with themselves and others. Live Wabi Sabi is proud to feature Damini because her journey reflects the essence of embracing imperfections and transforming life’s struggles into meaningful purpose, reminding women everywhere that growth, healing, and new beginnings are always possible.

Her Wabi Sabi Life Story

With over 11 years of experience, Damini Grover has worked with more than 3000 individuals, helping them navigate anxiety, self-doubt, relationship struggles, and emotional challenges. What started as a solo counseling practice gradually evolved into I’M Powered ~ Centre for Counseling & Well-Being, a growing mental health platform offering both psychological and psychiatric support.

Her journey, however, was deeply shaped by a personal turning point. At a young age, Damini experienced a serious head injury and was later diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a condition that brought significant physical challenges and chronic pain. The experience forced her to confront limitations she had never anticipated and reshaped her understanding of health, resilience, and the connection between the mind and body.

Over time, navigating pain and fatigue helped her cultivate deeper self-awareness, patience, and emotional strength. This “kintsugi moment” in her life transformed what once felt like a fracture into a source of purpose. Today, that experience continues to guide her work as she supports others in building resilience and understanding their own emotional journeys.

Beyond counseling, Damini actively contributes to mental health awareness through writing, workshops, and her books Time to Come Home and The Journey Within, in which she translates psychological insights into practical tools for everyday life.

Her Self-Love Shots

For Damini, self-love is not about indulgence but about discipline and self-respect in everyday decisions. It appears in the way she cares for her body through regular workouts, proper rest, and mindful nutrition. It also means listening to her body’s signals, especially when it asks for rest or a slower pace.

Emotionally, self-love involves acknowledging feelings rather than suppressing them and giving herself the space to process them. It also means making thoughtful choices about relationships and honoring what feels healthy and aligned.

Over time, she has redefined productivity, understanding that personal worth is not tied to constant output. In real life, self-love is about responding to one’s needs with awareness, responsibility, and integrity.

Her Proudest Moment

For Damini, pride doesn’t come from awards or titles alone. Her most meaningful moments happen when a client shares that something she said or helped them work through created a positive change in their life. Those acknowledgments and the trust people place in her work hold a deeply special place in her heart.

Being Part of LiveWabiSabi Stories

Being part of the Wabi Sabi Stories series represents authenticity for Damini. The philosophy celebrates the beauty found in imperfections and the wisdom that emerges through life’s challenges.

She believes that platforms like this create space for honest conversations about resilience, self-awareness, and growth. Sharing these experiences reminds us that both struggles and successes shape who we become. For her, contributing to Wabi Sabi Stories means being part of a community that values courage, vulnerability, and meaningful life journeys.

Her Biggest Cheerleader

Damini credits her strongest support system to her family, therapist, and mentor. Her family has consistently provided encouragement and belief in her journey, especially through the many ups and downs that come with building something meaningful.

At the same time, the guidance of her therapist and mentor has been instrumental in shaping both her personal and professional growth. Their insights and commitment to ethical, compassionate practice have helped her grow not only as a psychologist but also as an individual. Together, they remind her that true growth is never a solo journey, it thrives within supportive relationships.

Her Message to Other Women

Damini believes that growth rarely happens during perfectly planned moments. Often, it emerges from confusion, mistakes, difficult decisions, and periods of deep self-questioning.

These experiences are not signs of failure, they are often the spaces where self-awareness and strength begin to form. Life is rarely linear, and that is part of being human. What matters most is staying curious about ourselves, taking responsibility for our growth, and moving forward with compassion.

“Imperfection is not something to hide, it is often where the most meaningful transformation begins.” ~ Damini Grover
